Finally, real filmmaking instructional videos from a veteran Christian filmmaker.  This set of nine DVDs include in-depth coverage of how to write and create a blockbuster movie from script to screen.

The DVD sessions included are:

DVD101 - Teambuilding and Christian Filmmaking - This DVD contains two sessions. The first session introduces the sessions and ends with a class project for those working in a group. The second session discusses what makes a film and what distinguishes a Christian film. (For further discussions on the theological aspects of film, we recommend the excellent filmmaking resources available from Vision Forum.)

DVD102 - Digital Storytelling - On this DVD students learn the important aspects of how to tell a story in film, and how to turn their ideas into a script.

DVD103 - Scriptwriting - How to turn your story into a script.  Includes bonus material.

DVD104 - Aesthetics - Here, we study the artistic elements of film, and their meaning.

DVD105 - Sound - The sound of a film is, in some ways, more important than the images. This DVD discusses theory and practice of sound for film.

DVD106 - Lighting - Cinematography is the art and science of painting with light, and capturing that painting on film. On this DVD, students learn the basics of the science and art of lighting for film.

DVD107 - Camera and Motion - In this session we look straight into the lens and never blink. The craft of the filmmaker is to capture the story in light and motion using the camera. This DVD gives students a deeper look into the important aspects of camera technology, technique, and motion.

DVD108 - Production Process - This session we review the steps in our filmmaking journey, and look deeper into those steps.

DVD109 - Editing and Post Production - Once the story is written, planned, and captured to film, the real story of the film then reemerges in the editing room. A better understanding of the goals of editing will make students make better films.

Other bonuses:
  • The Cinenosin Film Academy Certified Christian Filmmaker certificate is available for those who study all the DVD sessions and pass the written exam and meet the other requirements.
  • The DVDs can be watched over and over with no extra charge.
  • The license for the DVDs covers the entire immediate family.
  • Students can learn at their own pace.
  • Email support is available with a one business day turn around (under normal circumstances).
  • See our website for more details.
The entire set of nine DVDs is a mere $249 including shipping (US only). Compare that with the $1,000's needed for a filmschool such as the New York Film Academy,  Americal Film Institute, or the Los Angeles Film School.  The session DVDs are licensed for private viewing only by your immediate family. The license is non-transferable, meaning the session DVDs cannot be sold, loaned, or given away. The DVDs may be shown in a classroom setting only if each family also has their own set. Filmmaking is a collaborative effort—we encourage filmmakers of all ages to collaborate in each area. We encourage each student to use the book Introduction to Media Production by Robert B. Musburger and Gorham Kindem (second edition, or later), to purchase the filmmaking DVD set and other film resources from Vision Forum, and to purchase the DVD Time Changer by Rich Christiano.  Email support and access to weekly scheduled online support are available at no additional charge for the first 90 days after the DVD is shipped. Email support is available free to license holders.

What makes you unique?

As far as we know, we are the only complete Christian DVD film academy on the Internet that focuses on how to produce culture changing films. If you know of another, please let us know.

Are you accredited?

Cinenosin Film Academy is not accredited by any accreditation body. In order to be accredited, a school must be in business for a certain number of years, pay $2,500, and meet other criteria. We are just starting up, and therefore cannot be accredited. There are other accredited film study programs available. The only accredited Christian filmmaking degrees we are aware of is from Bob Jones University (www.bju.edu). They offer a Cinema and Video Production degree. Of course, the Los Angeles (lafilm.com) and New York Film Academies (nyfa.com) offer non-Christian accredited programs starting around $35,000. To our knowledge, none of these offer DVD programs.

How much is the tuition?

The tuition will be significantly less than an accredited film academy. The DVDs are $245 per set. If you have a group, we recommend an additional $10 to the stay with the group. If you would like to donate to the Cinenosin Film Academy, please send us an email and we will send you the information for making scholarship, and other donations.

What all must I do to receive the certificates?

To receive the certificates you must sign a statement of Christian faith, purchase and watch the entire set of DVDs, maintain a passing grade, pass the final examination, and be current on tuition charges. We welcome friends who are not Christians to also join us. However, in order to receive the certificate, you must affirm your salvation in Jesus Christ alone. Non-Christian students will not be allowed to work in any "above the line" positions. Students who wish to only select certain classes ala carte may also do so, but will not receive the certificates.

What is your statement of faith?

We do not dictate our student's theology, but we do require each student accept the basic tenents of the Christian faith.
